diference between maps and photographs in surveying

Photograph is the actual picture taken through a camera or photo-theodolite of a specific area and map is the representation of that area by drawing to scale the boundaries and components of that area.

hi ,
i think photos represents only a two dimensional view of a place or object whereas maps are purely used for the purpose of mapping specificaly with co ordinates like latitude and longitude and giving a clear information about the sorroundings.
